When Mordecai perceived all that wassdone, Mordecai rent hissclothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry [bbe] Now when Mordecai saw what wassdone, pulling off hissrobe, he put on haircloth, with dust on hisshead, and went out into the middle of the town, crying out with a loud and bitter cry. 4:2 And came even before the king’ssgate: for none might enter into the king’ssgate clothed with sackcloth.And he came even before the king’ssdoorwayfor no one might come inside the king’ssdoor clothed in haircloth. 4:3 And in every province, whithersoever the king’sscommandment and hissdecree came, there wassgreat mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailingand many lay in sackcloth and ashes.And in every part of the kingdom, wherever the king’ssword and hissorder came, there wassgreat sorrow among the Jews, and weeping and crying and going without foodand numberssof them were stretched on the earth covered with dust and haircloth. 4:4 So Esther’ssmaidssand her chamberlainsscame and told it her. Then wassthe queen exceedingly grievedand she sent raiment to clothe Mordecai, and to take away hisssackcloth from him: but he received it not.And Esther’sswomen and her servantsscame and gave her word of it. Then great wassthe grief of the queen: and she sent robessfor Mordecai, so that hissclothing of haircloth might be taken offbut he would not have them. 4:5 Then called Esther for Hatach, one of the king’sschamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend upon her, and gave him a commandment to Mordecai, to know what it was, and why it was.Then Esther sent for Hathach, one of the king’ssunsexed servantsswhom he had given her for waiting on her, and she gave him orderssto go to Mordecai and see what thisswassand why it was. 4:6 So Hatach went forth to Mordecai unto the street of the city, which wassbefore the king’ssgate.So Hathach went out and saw Mordecai in the open square of the town before the king’ssdoorway. 4:7 And Mordecai told him of all that had happened unto him, and of the sum of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king’sstreasuriessfor the Jews, to destroy them.And Mordecai gave him an account of what had taken place, and of the amount of money which Haman had said he would put into the king’ssstore for the destruction of the Jews. 4:8 Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that wassgiven at Shushan to destroy them, to shew it unto Esther, and to declare it unto her, and to charge her that she should go in unto the king, to make supplication unto him, and to make request before him for her people.And he gave him the copy of the order which had been given out in Shushan for their destruction, ordering him to let Esther see it, and to make it clear to herand to say to her that she wassto go in to the king, requesting hissmercy, and making prayer for her people. 4:9 And Hatach came and told Esther the wordssof Mordecai.And Hathach came back and gave Esther an account of what Mordecai had said. 4:10 Again Esther spake unto Hatach, and gave him commandment unto Mordecai [bbe] Then Esther sent Hathach to say to Mordecai: 4:11 All the king’ssservants, and the people of the king’ssprovinces, do know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the king into the inner court, who issnot called, there issone law of hissto put him to death, except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre, that he may live: but I have not been called to come in unto the king these thirty days.It isscommon knowledge among all the king’ssservantssand the people of every part of the kingdom, that if anyone, man or woman, comessto the king in hissinner room without being sent for, there issonly one law for him, that he issto be put to deathonly those to whom the king’ssrod of gold issstretched out may keep their lives: but I have not been sent for to come before the king these thirty days. 4:12 And they told to Mordecai Esther’sswords.And they said these wordssto Mordecai. 4:13 Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king’sshouse, more than all the Jews.Then Mordecai sent thissanswer back to Esther: Do not have the idea that you in the king’sshouse will be safe from the fate of all the Jews. 4:14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at thisstime, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jewssfrom another placebut thou and thy father’sshouse shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time assthis?If at thisstime you say nothing, then help and salvation will come to the Jewssfrom some other place, but you and your father’ssfamily will come to destruction: and who issto say that you have not come to the kingdom even for such a time assthis? 4:15 Then Esther bade them return Mordecai thissanswer,Then Esther sent them back to Mordecai with thissanswer: 4:16 Go, gather together all the Jewssthat are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidensswill fast likewiseand so will I go in unto the king, which issnot according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.Go, get together all the Jewsswho are present in Shushan, and go without food for me, taking no food or drink night or day for three days: and I and my women will do the sameand so I will go in to the king, which issagainst the law: and if death issto be my fate, then let it come. 4:17 So Mordecai went hissway, and did according to all that Esther had commanded him.So Mordecai went away and did everything assEsther had said.
When Ephraim spake trembling, he exalted himself in Israelbut when he offended in Baal, he died.When the wordssof my law came from Ephraim, he wasslifted up in Israelbut when he did evil through the Baal, death overtook him. 13:2 And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten imagessof their silver, and idolssaccording to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kisssthe calves.And now their sinssare increasedthey have made themselvessa metal image, false godssfrom their silver, after their designs, all of them the work of the metal-workersthey say of them, Let them give offerings, let men give kissessto the oxen. 13:3 Therefore they shall be assthe morning cloud, and assthe early dew that passeth away, assthe chaff that issdriven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and assthe smoke out of the chimney.So they will be like the morning cloud, like the dew which goessearly away, like the dust of the grain which the wind issdriving out of the crushing-floor, like smoke going up from the fireplace. 13:4 Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there issno saviour beside me.But I am the Lord your God, from the land of Egyptyou have knowledge of no other God and there issno saviour but me. 13:5 I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.I had knowledge of you in the waste land where no water was. 13:6 According to their pasture, so were they filledthey were filled, and their heart wassexaltedtherefore have they forgotten me.When I gave them food they were full, and their heartsswere full of pride, and they did not keep me in mind. 13:7 Therefore I will be unto them assa lion: assa leopard by the way will I observe them:So I will be like a lion to themassa cruel beast I will keep watch by the road13:8 I will meet them assa bear that issbereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.I will come face to face with them like a bear whose young onesshave been taken from her, and their inmost heartsswill be brokenthere the dogsswill make a meal of themthey will be wounded by the beastssof the field. 13:9 O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyselfbut in me issthine help.I have sent destruction on you, O Israelwho will be your helper? 13:10 I will be thy king: where issany other that may save thee in all thy cities? and thy judgessof whom thou saidst, Give me a king and princes?Where issyour king, that he may be your saviour? and all your rulers, that they may take up your cause? of whom you said, Give me a king and rulers. 13:11 I gave thee a king in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath.I have given you a king, because I wassangry, and have taken him away in my wrath. 13:12 The iniquity of Ephraim issbound uphisssin isshid.The wrongdoing of Ephraim issshut uphisssin issput away in secret. 13:13 The sorrowssof a travailing woman shall come upon him: he issan unwise sonfor he should not stay long in the place of the breaking forth of children.The painssof a woman in childbirth will come on him: he issan unwise son, for at thisstime it issnot right for him to keep hissplace when children come to birth. 13:14 I will ransom them from the power of the graveI will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plaguesO grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.I will give the price to make them free from the power of the underworld, I will be their saviour from death: O death where issyour destruction? my eyesswill have no pity. 13:15 Though he be fruitful among hissbrethren, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness, and hissspring shall become dry, and hissfountain shall be dried up: he shall spoil the treasure of all pleasant vessels.Though he givessfruit among hissbrothers, an east wind will come, the wind of the Lord coming up from the waste land, and hissspring will become dry, hissfountain will be without water: it will make waste the store of all the vesselssof hissdesire. 13:16 Samaria shall become desolatefor she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infantssshall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.Samaria will be made waste, for she hassgone against her God: they will be cut down by the sword, their little children will be broken on the rocks, their women who are with child will be cut open.

When Ephraim spake trembling, he exalted himself in Israelbut when he offended in Baal, he died.When the wordssof my law came from Ephraim, he wasslifted up in Israelbut when he did evil through the Baal, death overtook him. 13:2 And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten imagessof their silver, and idolssaccording to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kisssthe calves.And now their sinssare increasedthey have made themselvessa metal image, false godssfrom their silver, after their designs, all of them the work of the metal-workersthey say of them, Let them give offerings, let men give kissessto the oxen. 13:3 Therefore they shall be assthe morning cloud, and assthe early dew that passeth away, assthe chaff that issdriven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and assthe smoke out of the chimney.So they will be like the morning cloud, like the dew which goessearly away, like the dust of the grain which the wind issdriving out of the crushing-floor, like smoke going up from the fireplace. 13:4 Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there issno saviour beside me.But I am the Lord your God, from the land of Egyptyou have knowledge of no other God and there issno saviour but me. 13:5 I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.I had knowledge of you in the waste land where no water was. 13:6 According to their pasture, so were they filledthey were filled, and their heart wassexaltedtherefore have they forgotten me.When I gave them food they were full, and their heartsswere full of pride, and they did not keep me in mind. 13:7 Therefore I will be unto them assa lion: assa leopard by the way will I observe them:So I will be like a lion to themassa cruel beast I will keep watch by the road13:8 I will meet them assa bear that issbereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.I will come face to face with them like a bear whose young onesshave been taken from her, and their inmost heartsswill be brokenthere the dogsswill make a meal of themthey will be wounded by the beastssof the field. 13:9 O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyselfbut in me issthine help.I have sent destruction on you, O Israelwho will be your helper? 13:10 I will be thy king: where issany other that may save thee in all thy cities? and thy judgessof whom thou saidst, Give me a king and princes?Where issyour king, that he may be your saviour? and all your rulers, that they may take up your cause? of whom you said, Give me a king and rulers. 13:11 I gave thee a king in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath.I have given you a king, because I wassangry, and have taken him away in my wrath. 13:12 The iniquity of Ephraim issbound uphisssin isshid.The wrongdoing of Ephraim issshut uphisssin issput away in secret. 13:13 The sorrowssof a travailing woman shall come upon him: he issan unwise sonfor he should not stay long in the place of the breaking forth of children.The painssof a woman in childbirth will come on him: he issan unwise son, for at thisstime it issnot right for him to keep hissplace when children come to birth. 13:14 I will ransom them from the power of the graveI will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plaguesO grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.I will give the price to make them free from the power of the underworld, I will be their saviour from death: O death where issyour destruction? my eyesswill have no pity. 13:15 Though he be fruitful among hissbrethren, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness, and hissspring shall become dry, and hissfountain shall be dried up: he shall spoil the treasure of all pleasant vessels.Though he givessfruit among hissbrothers, an east wind will come, the wind of the Lord coming up from the waste land, and hissspring will become dry, hissfountain will be without water: it will make waste the store of all the vesselssof hissdesire. 13:16 Samaria shall become desolatefor she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infantssshall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.Samaria will be made waste, for she hassgone against her God: they will be cut down by the sword, their little children will be broken on the rocks, their women who are with child will be cut open.
When Mordecai perceived all that wassdone, Mordecai rent hissclothes, and put on sackcloth with ashes, and went out into the midst of the city, and cried with a loud and a bitter cry [bbe] Now when Mordecai saw what wassdone, pulling off hissrobe, he put on haircloth, with dust on hisshead, and went out into the middle of the town, crying out with a loud and bitter cry. 4:2 And came even before the king’ssgate: for none might enter into the king’ssgate clothed with sackcloth.And he came even before the king’ssdoorwayfor no one might come inside the king’ssdoor clothed in haircloth. 4:3 And in every province, whithersoever the king’sscommandment and hissdecree came, there wassgreat mourning among the Jews, and fasting, and weeping, and wailingand many lay in sackcloth and ashes.And in every part of the kingdom, wherever the king’ssword and hissorder came, there wassgreat sorrow among the Jews, and weeping and crying and going without foodand numberssof them were stretched on the earth covered with dust and haircloth. 4:4 So Esther’ssmaidssand her chamberlainsscame and told it her. Then wassthe queen exceedingly grievedand she sent raiment to clothe Mordecai, and to take away hisssackcloth from him: but he received it not.And Esther’sswomen and her servantsscame and gave her word of it. Then great wassthe grief of the queen: and she sent robessfor Mordecai, so that hissclothing of haircloth might be taken offbut he would not have them. 4:5 Then called Esther for Hatach, one of the king’sschamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend upon her, and gave him a commandment to Mordecai, to know what it was, and why it was.Then Esther sent for Hathach, one of the king’ssunsexed servantsswhom he had given her for waiting on her, and she gave him orderssto go to Mordecai and see what thisswassand why it was. 4:6 So Hatach went forth to Mordecai unto the street of the city, which wassbefore the king’ssgate.So Hathach went out and saw Mordecai in the open square of the town before the king’ssdoorway. 4:7 And Mordecai told him of all that had happened unto him, and of the sum of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king’sstreasuriessfor the Jews, to destroy them.And Mordecai gave him an account of what had taken place, and of the amount of money which Haman had said he would put into the king’ssstore for the destruction of the Jews. 4:8 Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that wassgiven at Shushan to destroy them, to shew it unto Esther, and to declare it unto her, and to charge her that she should go in unto the king, to make supplication unto him, and to make request before him for her people.And he gave him the copy of the order which had been given out in Shushan for their destruction, ordering him to let Esther see it, and to make it clear to herand to say to her that she wassto go in to the king, requesting hissmercy, and making prayer for her people. 4:9 And Hatach came and told Esther the wordssof Mordecai.And Hathach came back and gave Esther an account of what Mordecai had said. 4:10 Again Esther spake unto Hatach, and gave him commandment unto Mordecai [bbe] Then Esther sent Hathach to say to Mordecai: 4:11 All the king’ssservants, and the people of the king’ssprovinces, do know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the king into the inner court, who issnot called, there issone law of hissto put him to death, except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre, that he may live: but I have not been called to come in unto the king these thirty days.It isscommon knowledge among all the king’ssservantssand the people of every part of the kingdom, that if anyone, man or woman, comessto the king in hissinner room without being sent for, there issonly one law for him, that he issto be put to deathonly those to whom the king’ssrod of gold issstretched out may keep their lives: but I have not been sent for to come before the king these thirty days. 4:12 And they told to Mordecai Esther’sswords.And they said these wordssto Mordecai. 4:13 Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king’sshouse, more than all the Jews.Then Mordecai sent thissanswer back to Esther: Do not have the idea that you in the king’sshouse will be safe from the fate of all the Jews. 4:14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at thisstime, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jewssfrom another placebut thou and thy father’sshouse shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time assthis?If at thisstime you say nothing, then help and salvation will come to the Jewssfrom some other place, but you and your father’ssfamily will come to destruction: and who issto say that you have not come to the kingdom even for such a time assthis? 4:15 Then Esther bade them return Mordecai thissanswer,Then Esther sent them back to Mordecai with thissanswer: 4:16 Go, gather together all the Jewssthat are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidensswill fast likewiseand so will I go in unto the king, which issnot according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.Go, get together all the Jewsswho are present in Shushan, and go without food for me, taking no food or drink night or day for three days: and I and my women will do the sameand so I will go in to the king, which issagainst the law: and if death issto be my fate, then let it come. 4:17 So Mordecai went hissway, and did according to all that Esther had commanded him.So Mordecai went away and did everything assEsther had said.

And straight away he wassmade clean. 8:4 And Jesusssaith unto him, See thou tell no manbut go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Mosesscommanded, for a testimony unto them.And Jesusssaid to him, See that you say nothing about thissto anyonebut go and let the priest see you and make the offering which wassordered by Moses, for a witnesssto them. 8:5 And when Jesusswassentered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,And when Jesusswasscome into Capernaum, a certain captain came to him with a request, 8:6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.Saying, Lord, my servant issill in bed at the house, with no power in hissbody, and in great pain. 8:7 And Jesusssaith unto him, I will come and heal him.And he said to him, I will come and make him well. 8:8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.And the captain in answer said, Lord, I am not good enough for you to come under my roofbut only say the word, and my servant will be made well. 8:9 For I am a man under authority, having soldierssunder me: and I say to thissman, Go, and he goethand to another, Come, and he comethand to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.Because I myself am a man under authority, having under me fighting menand I say to thissone, Go, and he goesand to another, Come, and he comesand to my servant, Do this, and he doessit. 8:10 When Jesussheard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.And when these wordsscame to the earssof Jesusshe wasssurprised, and said to those who came after him, Truly I say to you, I have not seen such great faith, no, not in Israel. 8:11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.And I say to you that numbersswill come from the east and the west, and will take their seatsswith Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven: 8:12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.But the sonssof the kingdom will be put out into the dark, and there will be weeping and criessof pain. 8:13 And Jesusssaid unto the centurion, Go thy wayand assthou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And hissservant wasshealed in the selfsame hour.And Jesusssaid to the captain, Go in peaceassyour faith is, so let it be done to you. Then he arose, and rebuked the windssand the seaand there wassa great calm.And he said to them, Why are you full of fear, O you of little faith? Then he got up and gave orderssto the windssand the seaand there wassa great calm. 8:27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man issthis, that even the windssand the sea obey him28 And when he wasscome to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might passsby that way.And when he had come to the other side, to the country of the Gadarenes, there came out to him from the place of the dead, two who had evil spirits, so violent that no man wassable to go that way. 8:29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment ussbefore the time?And they gave a loud cry, saying, What have we to do with you, you Son of God? Have you come here to give usspunishment before the time? 8:30 And there wassa good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.Now there was, some distance away, a great herd of pigsstaking their food. 8:31 So the devilssbesought him, saying, If thou cast ussout, suffer ussto go away into the herd of swine.And the evil spiritssmade strong prayerssto him, saying, If you send ussout, let ussgo into the herd of pigs. 8:32 And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.And he said to them, Go. Then great wassthe grief of the queen: and she sent robessfor Mordecai, so that hissclothing of haircloth might be taken offbut he would not have them. 4:5 Then called Esther for Hatach, one of the king’sschamberlains, whom he had appointed to attend upon her, and gave him a commandment to Mordecai, to know what it was, and why it was.Then Esther sent for Hathach, one of the king’ssunsexed servantsswhom he had given her for waiting on her, and she gave him orderssto go to Mordecai and see what thisswassand why it was. 4:6 So Hatach went forth to Mordecai unto the street of the city, which wassbefore the king’ssgate.So Hathach went out and saw Mordecai in the open square of the town before the king’ssdoorway. 4:7 And Mordecai told him of all that had happened unto him, and of the sum of the money that Haman had promised to pay to the king’sstreasuriessfor the Jews, to destroy them.And Mordecai gave him an account of what had taken place, and of the amount of money which Haman had said he would put into the king’ssstore for the destruction of the Jews. 4:8 Also he gave him the copy of the writing of the decree that wassgiven at Shushan to destroy them, to shew it unto Esther, and to declare it unto her, and to charge her that she should go in unto the king, to make supplication unto him, and to make request before him for her people.And he gave him the copy of the order which had been given out in Shushan for their destruction, ordering him to let Esther see it, and to make it clear to herand to say to her that she wassto go in to the king, requesting hissmercy, and making prayer for her people. 4:9 And Hatach came and told Esther the wordssof Mordecai.And Hathach came back and gave Esther an account of what Mordecai had said. 4:10 Again Esther spake unto Hatach, and gave him commandment unto Mordecai [bbe] Then Esther sent Hathach to say to Mordecai: 4:11 All the king’ssservants, and the people of the king’ssprovinces, do know, that whosoever, whether man or woman, shall come unto the king into the inner court, who issnot called, there issone law of hissto put him to death, except such to whom the king shall hold out the golden sceptre, that he may live: but I have not been called to come in unto the king these thirty days.It isscommon knowledge among all the king’ssservantssand the people of every part of the kingdom, that if anyone, man or woman, comessto the king in hissinner room without being sent for, there issonly one law for him, that he issto be put to deathonly those to whom the king’ssrod of gold issstretched out may keep their lives: but I have not been sent for to come before the king these thirty days. 4:12 And they told to Mordecai Esther’sswords.And they said these wordssto Mordecai. 4:13 Then Mordecai commanded to answer Esther, Think not with thyself that thou shalt escape in the king’sshouse, more than all the Jews.Then Mordecai sent thissanswer back to Esther: Do not have the idea that you in the king’sshouse will be safe from the fate of all the Jews. 4:14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at thisstime, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jewssfrom another placebut thou and thy father’sshouse shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time assthis?If at thisstime you say nothing, then help and salvation will come to the Jewssfrom some other place, but you and your father’ssfamily will come to destruction: and who issto say that you have not come to the kingdom even for such a time assthis? 4:15 Then Esther bade them return Mordecai thissanswer,Then Esther sent them back to Mordecai with thissanswer: 4:16 Go, gather together all the Jewssthat are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidensswill fast likewiseand so will I go in unto the king, which issnot according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.Go, get together all the Jewsswho are present in Shushan, and go without food for me, taking no food or drink night or day for three days: and I and my women will do the sameand so I will go in to the king, which issagainst the law: and if death issto be my fate, then let it come. 4:17 So Mordecai went hissway, and did according to all that Esther had commanded him.So Mordecai went away and did everything assEsther had said.
When I would have healed Israel, then the iniquity of Ephraim wassdiscovered, and the wickednesssof Samaria: for they commit falsehoodand the thief cometh in, and the troop of robberssspoileth without.When my desire wassfor the fate of my people to be changed and to make Israel well, then the sin of Ephraim wassmade clear, and the evil-doing of Samariafor their wayssare false, and the thief comessinto the house, while the band of outlawsstakessproperty by force in the streets. 7:2 And they consider not in their heartssthat I remember all their wickedness: now their own doingsshave beset them aboutthey are before my face.And they do not say to themselvessthat I keep in mind all their sinnow their evil actsscome round them on every sidethey are before my face. 7:3 They make the king glad with their wickedness, and the princesswith their lies.In their sin they make a king for themselves, and rulerssin their deceit. 7:4 They are all adulterers, assan oven heated by the baker, who ceaseth from raising after he hath kneaded the dough, until it be leavened.They are all untruethey are like a burning oventhe bread-maker doessnot make up the fire from the time when the paste issmixed till it issleavened. 7:5In the day of our king the princesshave made him sick with bottlessof winehe stretched out hisshand with scorners.On the day of our king, the rulerssmade him ill with the heat of winehisshand wassstretched out with the men of pride. 7:6 For they have made ready their heart like an oven, whilessthey lie in wait: their baker sleepeth all the nightin the morning it burneth assa flaming fire.For they have made their heartssready like an oven, while they are waiting secretlytheir wrath isssleeping all nightin the morning it issburning like a flaming fire. 7:7 They are all hot assan oven, and have devoured their judgesall their kingssare fallen: there issnone among them that calleth unto me.They are all heated like an oven, and they put an end to their judgesall their kingsshave been made lownot one among them makessprayer to me. 7:8 Ephraim, he hath mixed himself among the peopleEphraim issa cake not turned.Ephraim issmixed with the peoplesEphraim issa cake not turned. 7:9Strangersshave devoured hissstrength, and he knoweth it not: yea, gray hairssare here and there upon him, yet he knoweth not.Men from other landsshave made waste hissstrength, and he issnot conscioussof itgrey hairsshave come on him here and there, and he hassno knowledge of it. 7:10 And the pride of Israel testifieth to hissface: and they do not return to the LORD their God, nor seek him for all this.And the pride of Israel givessan answer to hissfacebut for all this, they have not gone back to the Lord their God, or made search for him. 7:11 Ephraim also isslike a silly dove without heart: they call to Egypt, they go to Assyria.And Ephraim isslike a foolish dove, without wisdomthey send out their cry to Egypt, they go to Assyria. 7:12 When they shall go, I will spread my net upon themI will bring them down assthe fowlssof the heavenI will chastise them, asstheir congregation hath heard.When they go, my net will be stretched out over themI will take them like the birdssof heaven, I will give them punishment, I will take them away in the net for their sin. 7:13 Woe unto them destruction unto them though I have redeemed them, yet they have spoken liessagainst me.May trouble be theirs14 And they have not cried unto me with their heart, when they howled upon their beds: they assemble themselvessfor corn and wine, and they rebel against me.And they have not made prayer to me in their hearts, but they make loud criesson their bedsthey are cutting themselvessfor food and wine, they are turned against me. 7:15 Though I have bound and strengthened their arms, yet do they imagine mischief against me.Though I have given training and strength to their arms, they have evil designssagainst me. 7:16 They return, but not to the most High: they are like a deceitful bow: their princessshall fall by the sword for the rage of their tongue: thissshall be their derision in the land of Egypt.They have gone to what issof no valuethey are like a false bowtheir captainsswill come to destruction by the sword, and their ruler by my wrathfor this, the land of Egypt will make sport of them.
What shall we say then that Abraham our father, asspertaining to the flesh, hath found?What, then, may we say that Abraham, our father after the flesh, hassgot? 4:2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glorybut not before God.For if Abraham got righteousnesssby works, he hassreason for pridebut not before God. 4:3 For what saith the scripture? What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?What may we say, then? are we to go on in sin so that there may be more grace? 6:2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?In no way. Let it not be so. 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselvessservantssto obey, hissservantssye are to whom ye obeywhether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?Are you not conscioussthat you are the servantssof him to whom you give yourselvessto do hissdesire? if to sin, the end being death, or if to do the desire of God, the end being righteousness. 6:17 But God be thanked, that ye were the servantssof sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which wassdelivered you.But praise be to God that though you were the servantssof sin, you have now given yourselvessfreely to that form of teaching under which you were placed6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servantssof righteousness.And being made free from sin you have been made the servantssof righteousness. 6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for assye have yielded your memberssservantssto uncleannesssand to iniquity unto iniquityeven so now yield your memberssservantssto righteousnesssunto holiness.I am using wordssin the way of men, because your flesh issfeeble: assyou gave your bodiessassservantssto what issunclean, and to evil to do evil, so now give them assservantssto righteousnesssto do what issholy. 6:20 For when ye were the servantssof sin, ye were free from righteousness.When you were servantssof sin you were free from righteousness. 6:21 What fruit had ye then in those thingsswhereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those thingssissdeath.What fruit had you at that time in the thingsswhich are now a shame to you? for the end of such thingssissdeath. 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servantssto God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.But now, being free from sin, and having been made servantssto God, you have your fruit in that which issholy, and the end isseternal life. 6:23 For the wagessof sin issdeathbut the gift of God isseternal life through JesussChrist our Lord.For the reward of sin issdeathbut what God freely givessisseternal life in JesussChrist our Lord.
When he wasscome down from the mountain, great multitudessfollowed him.And when he had come down from the mountain, great numberssof people came after him. 8:2 And, behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.And a leper came and gave him worship, saying, Lord, if it issyour pleasure, you have power to make me clean. 8:3 And Jesussput forth hisshand, and touched him, saying, I willbe thou clean. And immediately hissleprosy wasscleansed.And he put hisshand on him, saying, It issmy pleasurebe clean. And straight away he wassmade clean. 8:4 And Jesusssaith unto him, See thou tell no manbut go thy way, shew thyself to the priest, and offer the gift that Mosesscommanded, for a testimony unto them.And Jesusssaid to him, See that you say nothing about thissto anyonebut go and let the priest see you and make the offering which wassordered by Moses, for a witnesssto them. 8:5 And when Jesusswassentered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,And when Jesusswasscome into Capernaum, a certain captain came to him with a request, 8:6 And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.Saying, Lord, my servant issill in bed at the house, with no power in hissbody, and in great pain. 8:7 And Jesusssaith unto him, I will come and heal him.And he said to him, I will come and make him well. 8:8 The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.And the captain in answer said, Lord, I am not good enough for you to come under my roofbut only say the word, and my servant will be made well. 8:9 For I am a man under authority, having soldierssunder me: and I say to thissman, Go, and he goethand to another, Come, and he comethand to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.Because I myself am a man under authority, having under me fighting menand I say to thissone, Go, and he goesand to another, Come, and he comesand to my servant, Do this, and he doessit. 8:10 When Jesussheard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.And when these wordsscame to the earssof Jesusshe wasssurprised, and said to those who came after him, Truly I say to you, I have not seen such great faith, no, not in Israel. 8:11 And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.And I say to you that numbersswill come from the east and the west, and will take their seatsswith Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven: 8:12 But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.But the sonssof the kingdom will be put out into the dark, and there will be weeping and criessof pain. 8:13 And Jesusssaid unto the centurion, Go thy wayand assthou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And hissservant wasshealed in the selfsame hour.And Jesusssaid to the captain, Go in peaceassyour faith is, so let it be done to you. And the servant wassmade well in that hour. 8:14 And when Jesusswasscome into Peter’sshouse, he saw hisswife’ssmother laid, and sick of a fever.And when Jesusshad come into Peter’sshouse, he saw hisswife’ssmother in bed, very ill. 8:15 And he touched her hand, and the fever left her: and she arose, and ministered unto them.And he put hisshand on herssand the disease went from her, and she got up and took care of hissneeds. 8:16When the even wasscome, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spiritsswith hissword, and healed all that were sick:And in the evening, they took to him a number of people who had evil spiritsand he sent the spiritssout of them with a word, and made well all who were ill8:17 That it might be fulfilled which wassspoken by Esaiassthe prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.So that the word of Isaiah the prophet might come true: He himself took our painssand our diseases. 8:18 Now when Jesusssaw great multitudessabout him, he gave commandment to depart unto the other side.Now when Jesusssaw a great masssof people about him, he gave an order to go to the other side. 8:19 And a certain scribe came, and said unto him, Master, I will follow thee whithersoever thou goest.And there came a scribe and said to him, Master, I will come after you wherever you go. 8:20 And Jesusssaith unto him, The foxesshave holes, and the birdssof the air have nestsbut the Son of man hath not where to lay hisshead.And Jesusssaid to him, The foxesshave holes, and the birdssof heaven have a resting-placebut the Son of man hassnowhere to put hisshead. 8:21And another of hissdisciplesssaid unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.And another of the disciplesssaid to him, Lord, let me first go and give the last honourssto my father. 8:22 But Jesusssaid unto him, Follow meand let the dead bury their dead.But Jesusssaid to him, Come after meand let the dead take care of their dead. 8:23 And when he wassentered into a ship, hissdisciplessfollowed him.And when he had got into a boat, hissdisciplesswent after him. 8:24 And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship wasscovered with the waves: but he wassasleep.And there came up a great storm in the sea, so that the boat wasscovered with the waves: but he wasssleeping. 8:25 And hissdisciplesscame to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.And they came to him, and, awaking him, said, Help, Lorddestruction issnear. 8:26 And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the windssand the seaand there wassa great calm.And he said to them, Why are you full of fear, O you of little faith? Then he got up and gave orderssto the windssand the seaand there wassa great calm. 8:27 But the men marvelled, saying, What manner of man issthis, that even the windssand the sea obey him28 And when he wasscome to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might passsby that way.And when he had come to the other side, to the country of the Gadarenes, there came out to him from the place of the dead, two who had evil spirits, so violent that no man wassable to go that way. 8:29 And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment ussbefore the time?And they gave a loud cry, saying, What have we to do with you, you Son of God? Have you come here to give usspunishment before the time? 8:30 And there wassa good way off from them an herd of many swine feeding.Now there was, some distance away, a great herd of pigsstaking their food. 8:31 So the devilssbesought him, saying, If thou cast ussout, suffer ussto go away into the herd of swine.And the evil spiritssmade strong prayerssto him, saying, If you send ussout, let ussgo into the herd of pigs. 8:32 And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters.And he said to them, Go. And they came out, and went into the pigsand the herd went rushing down a sharp slope into the sea and came to their end in the water. 8:33 And they that kept them fled, and went their wayssinto the city, and told every thing, and what wassbefallen to the possessed of the devils.And their keepersswent in flight to the town and gave an account of everything, and of the men who had the evil spirits. 8:34 And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.And all the town came out to Jesusand seeing him they made request that he would go away from their part of the country.
What shall we say then that Abraham our father, asspertaining to the flesh, hath found?What, then, may we say that Abraham, our father after the flesh, hassgot? 4:2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glorybut not before God.For if Abraham got righteousnesssby works, he hassreason for pridebut not before God. 4:3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it wasscounted unto him for righteousness.But what doessit say in the holy Writings? And Abraham had faith in God, and it wassput to hissaccount assrighteousness. 4:4 Now to him that worketh issthe reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.Now, the reward isscredited to him who doessworks, not assof grace but assa debt. 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, hissfaith isscounted for righteousness.But to him who without working hassfaith in him who givessrighteousnesssto the evil-doer, hissfaith issput to hissaccount assrighteousness. 4:6 Even assDavid also describeth the blessednesssof the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousnessswithout works,AssDavid sayssthat there issa blessing on the man to whose account God putssrighteousnessswithout works, saying, 4:7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquitiessare forgiven, and whose sinssare covered.Happy are those who have forgivenesssfor their wrongdoing, and whose sinssare covered. 4:8 Blessed issthe man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.Happy issthe man against whom no sin issrecorded by the Lord. 4:9 Cometh thissblessednesssthen upon the circumcision only, or upon the uncircumcision also? for we say that faith wassreckoned to Abraham for righteousness.Issthissblessing, then, for the circumcision only, or in the same way for those who have not circumcision? for we say that the faith of Abraham wassput to hissaccount assrighteousness. 4:10 How wassit then reckoned? when he wassin circumcision, or in uncircumcision? Not in circumcision, but in uncircumcision.How, then, wassit judged? when he had circumcision, or when he had it not? Not when he had it, but when he did not have it: 4:11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousnesssof the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcisedthat righteousnesssmight be imputed unto them also:And he wassgiven the sign of circumcision assa witnesssof the faith which he had before he underwent circumcision: so that he might be the father of all those who have faith, though they have not circumcision, and so that righteousnesssmight be put to their account4:12 And the father of circumcision to them who are not of the circumcision only, but who also walk in the stepssof that faith of our father Abraham, which he had being yet uncircumcised.And the father of circumcision to those who not only are of the circumcision, but who keep to the way of that faith which our father Abraham had before he underwent circumcision. 4:13 For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, wassnot to Abraham, or to hissseed, through the law, but through the righteousnesssof faith.For God’ssword, that the earth would be hissheritage, wassgiven to Abraham, not through the law, but through the righteousnesssof faith. 4:14 For if they which are of the law be heirs, faith issmade void, and the promise made of none effect:For if they who are of the law are the people who get the heritage, then faith issmade of no use, and the word of God hassno power4:15 Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there issno transgression.For the outcome of the law isswrathbut where there issno law it will not be broken. 4:16 Therefore it issof faith, that it might be by graceto the end the promise might be sure to all the seednot to that only which issof the law, but to that also which issof the faith of Abrahamwho issthe father of ussall,For thissreason it issof faith, so that it may be through graceand so that the word of God may be certain to all the seednot only to that which issof the law, but to that which issof the faith of Abraham, who issthe father of ussall, 4:17 (Assit isswritten, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those thingsswhich be not assthough they were.(Assit isssaid in the holy Writings, I have made you a father of a number of nations) before him in whom he had faith, that is, God, who givesslife to the dead, and to whom the thingsswhich are not are assif they were. 4:18 Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which wassspoken, So shall thy seed be.Who without reason for hope, in faith went on hoping, so that he became the father of a number of nations, assit had been said, So will your seed be. 4:19 And being not weak in faith, he considered not hissown body now dead, when he wassabout an hundred yearssold, neither yet the deadnesssof Sarah’sswomb:And not being feeble in faith though hissbody seemed to him little better than dead (he being about a hundred yearssold) and Sarah wassno longer able to have children: 4:20 He staggered not at the promise of God through unbeliefbut wassstrong in faith, giving glory to God [bbe] Still, he did not give up faith in the undertaking of God, but wassmade strong by faith, giving glory to God, 4:21 And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he wassable also to perform.And being certain that God wassable to keep hissword. 4:22 And therefore it wassimputed to him for righteousness.For which reason it wassput to hissaccount assrighteousness. 4:23 Now it wassnot written for hisssake alone, that it wassimputed to him [bbe] Now, it wassnot because of him only that thisswasssaid, 4:24But for ussalso, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesussour Lord from the dead [bbe] But for ussin addition, to whose account it will be put, if we have faith in him who made Jesussour Lord come back again from the dead, 4:25 Who wassdelivered for our offences, and wassraised again for our justification.Who wassput to death for our evil-doing, and came to life again so that we might have righteousness.
