Old School RuneScape has made several introductions in recent months aimed at skilling. From Guardians of the Rift to new features, the devs have provided some new options for your skilling progression. Now, the new mini-quest, Giant’s Bounty, is here to put Smithing in the spotlight – with the community’s support, of course.
The Giant’s Foundry is a new area located under the Giants Plateau. The new area will not only give you a new take on Giant lore in Gielinor, but the opportunity to help one of the Giants, Kovac, to restore a significant forge there and create colossal weapons. This will let you, of course, level up your Smithing once you’ve helped and set things right.
When you’re done helping Kovac out, you’ll have access to his rewards shop. You will be able to obtain items like the Smiths Uniform, which gives a bonus to Smithing across the board. Other rewards include the Colossal Blade. Finally, the new area of Giant’s Foundry will come with some new skilling boosts that you’ll only be able to find in the desert area.
The Giant’s Foundry is aimed at setting new ways to level up Smithing in the earlier game, as a gateway to better items in mid-game. This new area and quest are suggested for those with a level of 15+ in Smithing, so this is something players could take advantage of pretty quickly with a new character.
Naturally, even if this all sounds good, there’s the matter of the community voice in Old School RuneScape. It seems that there would be a good sign in the fact that the Sleeping Giants mini-quest that is featured got 90% backing. This feature will be available for your Smithing needs.
